Nearly three years since their last live performance, The Von Bondies brought a tidal wave of motor city garage rock to the Lower East Side’s Mercury Lounge Friday night. After a great acoustic set by Boston based indie rockers The Charms, Von Bondies frontman Jason Stollsteimer lead the band through an hour long set that included grinding new material, lots of sweat and a more than modest amount of rockin’ out.
Love, Hate, and then there’s you, the band’s fourth album, is due out in 2008.
