July 18, 2008 – In an event co-presented by Celebrate Brooklyn, the Metropolis Ensemble played a steamy (but nonetheless enjoyable) neighborhood show at the latest installment of the Wordless Music series.
The Prospect Park Bandshell teemed with early-arriving music lovers for the symphonic collective, Metropolis Ensemble who performed The Rite: Remixed, a new arrangement by composers Ryan Francis, Leo Leite, and Ricardo Romaneiro of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. Mixing orchestra, live vocals and DJ equipment, the group’s performance inspired both curiosity and applause.
The Wordless Music Series continues to put together fabulous programing. The performances are among my favorites for the year.
