With A Perfect Circle currently on pause, alt-rocker Billy Howerdel brought the brooding chords of Ashes Divide to the Projekt Revolution tour. Batting second on the main stage lineup, Howerdel and Ashes complimented their grinding sound with a massive light show reminiscent of the fontman’s days as a professional lighting tech.
With their 2008 release Keep Telling Myself It’s Alright in hand, Ashes Divide turned up the heat on an already pumped crowd.

PHOTOGRAPHER’S NOTES
I’m a fan of big light shows; there is more to work with and the end results are usually more exiciting. On the flip side, they can be a real pain to shoot.
Case in point, the massive amount of smoke used in this production wreaked havoc on the Autofocus capabilities of my EOS-1D Mark III. Even when there was little flare to speak of, many of my photos were improperly focused.
Still, I’ll take a the smoke and colored floods any day.
