As it turns out, there were more than a few New Yorkers rocking out at Projekt Revolution. Following Ashes Divide, the NYC five piece The Bravery traded in their old residency at Arlene’s Grocery for the main stage at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.
Despite the bare bones lighting (and the fact that they were the only new wave act on the tour) The Bravery brought an incredibly energetic set that drew some of the best tracks from their popular 2005 release, Unconditional as well as last year’s The Sun and the Moon.
Though I had hoped for a more atmospheric light show, I enjoyed The Bravery’s performance. Both Sam Endicott and guitarist Michael Zakarin are quite fun to shoot. The backlighting and resulting flare were difficult, but not impossible, to deal with.
