Following Armor For Sleep, emo-rockers Hawthorne Heights took to the Revolution Stage at Projekt Revolution. With their cathartic new release, “Fragile Future” in tow, the Ohio four-piece brought their guitar faces and kept the energy high.

PHOTOGRAPHER’S NOTES
I’m not a huge fan of emo, but Hawthorne Heights was fun to shoot. Guitarist Micah Carli in particular was as expressive a performer as they come.
I all but stuck to the Canon 24-70mm during this set. For many of the shots, the lens was simply too long on the 1.3x crop of the Canon 1D Mark III. Stuff was getting chopped off left, right and center.
There is nothing more frustrating than having a tool that won’t do what your eye sees! I can’t wait to have a full frame camera.
