After a lot of thought I finally decided to switch. I’ve been officially “back in black” since noon on Black Friday. I marched into a local camera store with all of my Canon equipment and walked out with Nikon.
I’ll be posting my thoughts on the differences between the two systems shortly.
Sayonara Canon, it’s been great. But obviously, not that great.

Welcome back to the dark side. :)
Thanks Ryan!
Hey Chris,
Again, congrats on coming back to black. I think that you’re going to love the D3 – but you already knew that. ;)
I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts on the differences between the two systems. It’s easy enough to make general comparisons between brands, but it gets much more interesting for the type of demanding work that we do.
Enjoy.
Thanks Todd. There are a lot of little things that add up to some fairly big differences. The devil is in the details as they say.
I’m so glad I went Nikon from the get go. I don’t think I could do Canon. Haha. Welcome back to the fam, prodigal son.
LOVE it. Don’t know how I managed without it. I bet on a full frame it would be pure hotness.

Thanks Gabi. How’s the 30 treating you?
Well, it’s a DX lens so I don’t think it would work that well =P
