I always find working with emerging artists very rewarding – there is so much new talent out there without the right photography. Months ago, the guys from Premonitions contacted me about shooting new promos for the release of their awesome debut EP – listen on Spotify, buy it on iTunes. The weeks before the shoot were filled with the usual; planning the look and feel, coordinating locations, and ironing out wardrobe. Then hurricane Sandy hit. I made arrangements to reschedule four different photo shoots but I hadn’t heard from Premonitions who hail from the Jersey Shore. After unanswered emails, phone calls and text messages, I started to worry. Days later the band’s guitarist told me that everyone was safe but that the storm had gutted his apartment destroying all of their equipment. Needless to say, donating their shoot was the least I could do.
I want to give a huge shout out to Vinny, Rommel, Louie, Ryan, and Junior (Premonitions) for a successful debut release, and for keeping their spirits up during an incredibly difficult time. This shoot would not be possible without the additional support of my photographic partner in crime Roger Kisby and Attic Studios.
Help Premonitions get back on their feet by buying a copy of their debut EP.
